Now Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit, Zepto, and others will no longer offer 10-minute deliveries. Yes, quick commerce company Blinkit has completely removed the “10-minute delivery” claims from all its brand platforms. This decision was taken after a strong initiative by Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya. This initiative was aimed at improving the safety and working conditions of delivery workers.

10-Minute Delivery to End! Big Decision by Blinkit, Zomato, and Swiggy
Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a meeting with officials from Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy, and Zomato. During the meeting, e-commerce companies were advised to remove strict delivery time limits to ensure the safety of delivery partners and allow them to work safely.

This step was taken after strict advice from the Central Government
All the companies agreed to this. Blinkit implemented the change immediately, while other companies will also remove this commitment from their social media platforms soon.

Decision taken for the safety of gig workers
It is worth noting that for the past few weeks, there have been widespread protests by gig workers and delivery workers, including strikes. They called the 10-minute delivery model of these companies unsafe. In their haste to deliver orders within this time limit, they drive at high speeds, increasing the risk of accidents. Unions also held a strike on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025, regarding this issue.

What will change now?
Now, companies will no longer give fixed time commitments in their advertising. This means they will not claim that goods will be delivered within 10 minutes. However, this does not mean that the delivery speed will decrease. The aim is to remove unnecessary pressure on delivery workers.
