The incident took place in Sagardghat village under Titlagarh police station. On Monday, a child lost sight in one eye after a packet of chips exploded. The victim had bought the chips from a shop and returned home. In the evening, he was about to eat the chips. The child went near the gas stove with the packet of chips in his hand.

His mother was not in the kitchen at the time. Suddenly, the packet slipped from the child’s hand and came into contact with the fire. At that moment, the packet of chips exploded with a loud bang. The explosion was so powerful that the child’s eye was completely damaged.
FIR Filed Against the Chips Company
Hearing the child’s screams, the mother rushed in. Seeing her son covered in blood, she immediately took him to the hospital. After examination, the doctors said that the child would never be able to see with that eye again. The mother, Bhanumati Harpal, questioned how a food product made for children could be so dangerous. The chips packet exploded like a bomb upon coming into contact with fire. Outraged by the incident, the family has filed an FIR against the chips manufacturing company.
