Police have recovered Rs. 92,000 in cash from the criminals, but 15 to 20 tolas of gold jewelry are still missing. The police will seek the criminals’ remand to recover the jewelry.

Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh said that on the night of January 9, four criminals broke into the house of Sharafat, a resident of Van Vihar, Mehuwala, assaulted his family members, and fled after looting Rs. 1 lakh in cash and jewelry.

Based on a complaint, a case was registered at the Patel Nagar police station. Teams were formed under the supervision of Inspector Chandrabhan Adhikari. The police teams gathered information about the criminals with the help of CCTV footage from the area around the crime scene and the escape routes.

Based on this information, on Tuesday, the police arrested Bushran Rana, a resident of Shivpuri Nai Basti, Khatauli police station, Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh; Asif alias Bablu, a resident of Shiv Mandir Road, Khatauli, Muzaffarnagar district; Irfan, a resident of Kijiyan Mohalla, Muzaffarnagar; Rajkumar alias Anil, a resident of Umarapur village, Budhana police station, Muzaffarnagar district; and Wasif, a resident of Kijiyan Mohalla, Rehmatnagar, Baghra town, Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh, near Telpur Chowk.

The police recovered Rs. 92,000 in looted cash, two pistols, four cartridges, and two knives from the criminals. During questioning, the mastermind, Bushran, revealed that he is the son-in-law of the complainant Sharafat’s aunt and works as a traveling cloth vendor with his associates.

He had learned that Sharafat had sold his land in Saharanpur for crores of rupees and was expecting to receive Rs. 1.80 crore as an advance payment. He, along with his accomplices, hatched a plan to rob Sharafat’s house.

According to the plan, on the night of January 8, he went with his accomplices Asif alias Bablu, Irfan, Rajkumar alias Anil, and Wasif to Sharafat’s house, showed them the house, and then left the scene.

The advance payment was not received because the deal fell through
The SSP said that the criminals, armed with pistols and knives, entered the house and intimidated the women present before carrying out the robbery.

The criminals later learned that Sharafat had not received the money because the land deal had fallen through, so they only managed to steal one lakh rupees and some jewelry before fleeing. The stolen jewelry has not yet been recovered, and they will be taken into custody for its recovery.
