The Chief Minister said that a teacher is a guiding light, shaping society’s consciousness. A society where teachers are safe, respected, and satisfied progresses and reaches the pinnacle of development. He stated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is continuously working to improve the state’s education system, prioritizing the interests of teachers and students. He also emphasized the importance of modernizing, implementing the education system at various levels to make it more modern, practical, and well-organized.

The Chief Minister stated that the government does not want to limit the education system to exams and degrees, but rather aims to integrate it with skill development, advancing youth in the state’s employment and self-employment sectors. The government has made its priorities clear by implementing the New Education Policy, the first in the country. Under the new education policy, many new courses such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Big Data are now being introduced in our universities.

The Chief Minister stated that the government is establishing 20 model colleges in the state. For the convenience of students, women’s hostels, modern IT facilities, and other educational institutions are being developed. Labs and new examination halls are being constructed. We have signed an agreement with the UK for the Chevening Uttarakhand Scholarship. Under this, five of our most talented students will be sent to the UK for their Masters. As these young people enter the top 100 institutions in the country, our government is also providing them with an incentive of ₹50,000.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government is working to ensure that Uttarakhand’s youth become not just job seekers but also job creators through startups. Along with strengthening the infrastructure in Uttarakhand’s colleges, work is also underway to establish nine new colleges. The state government is also offering special incentive awards for the publication of outstanding research papers. He added that the state has implemented the country’s strictest anti-cheating law to crack down on the cheating mafia that threatens the future of youth. More than 100 cheating mafias are behind bars. In four and a half years, more than 26,000 of our youth have received government jobs in a transparent manner. This number represents more than two-thirds of the total appointments made by any government since the state’s formation.

The Chief Minister stated that a decision has been made to abolish the Madrasa Board in the state. Now, after July 1, 2026, only those Madrasas will operate in Devbhoomi that teach the modern syllabus prescribed by the government; otherwise, they will be closed. Control will also be imposed on religious gurus who, without any educational qualifications, were jeopardizing the future of children solely on religious grounds. Our effort is to provide quality education in accordance with established standards in the state’s educational institutions. The objective of education should be to guide children towards their overall development and a bright future, not to push them towards a 500-year-old tribal mentality. Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Kalpana Saini, MLA Pradeep Batra, college principal Dr. Mahendrapal Singh, and others were present on the occasion.
