Yati Narsinghanand Giri Maharaj, the head of the Shivshakti Dham Dasna in Uttarakhand, was stopped by the police at the Uttarakhand-Uttar Pradesh border. He was traveling to Haridwar with his disciples to observe a one-day symbolic fast at Sarvanand Ghat to protest the silence of the saint community on the UGC Act. However, the Uttarakhand police stopped him at the border before he could reach his destination.

However, his protests were futile against the police force. According to Narsinghanand Giri Maharaj, the UGC Act is part of the plans of Arab countries, particularly the UAE.

He believes that the saint community’s silence on this conspiracy is a great destruction of Sanatan Dharma. He even called the UGC Act a death warrant for Hindu society. He said that this conspiracy will throw the entire Hindu society into the flames of caste warfare. If the saints remain silent now, no one will be able to save Sanatan Dharma.

Was going to sacrifice his life at Jantar Mantar in Delhi
It is worth mentioning that earlier, on January 23, 2026, Mahamandaleshwar Yati Narsinghanand Giri Maharaj was going to sacrifice his life at Jantar Mantar in Delhi with his disciples to protest the UGC Act. However, the Ghaziabad police had placed him under house arrest at the temple.
