Rishabh Pant had said that the car overturned due to pothole, now NHAI replied

There was no pothole on the road where cricketer Rishabh Pant’s car crashed. An official of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) gave this information on Monday. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, after meeting the cricketer at a hospital in Dehradun on Sunday, had said that Pant told him that his car met with an accident while he was trying to avoid a pothole on the highway. .

However, Pradeep Singh Gusain, project director, NHAI Roorkee division, said, “There was no pothole on the road where the accident took place. The road where the car met with the accident is a bit narrow due to a canal (Rajwaha) adjacent to the highway. This canal is used for irrigation.

Gusain also denied that the NHAI had repaired the accident site and the “potholes” were fixed. However, some photographs of a section of the highway purportedly being repaired by workers circulated on social media late on Sunday evening.

Dhami had told reporters after meeting Pant at Max Hospital that the cricketer had lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid a pothole or some black object.

Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) director Shyam Sharma, who met Pant on Saturday, also quoted the keeper-batsman as saying that the accident happened in the early hours of Friday when he was trying to avoid a pothole.
