Uttarakhand: Instead of revenue police, the process of setting up regular police system is going on, now there will be better law and order in hilly areas – CM

Action is being taken by the state government to establish regular police system by abolishing the existing revenue police system in some parts of the hilly areas. In this regard, a total of 1444 villages have been notified, forming 06 new police stations and 20 reporting police posts at strategic, tourism and criminal activities in the state. In which total 14 villages of 01 outpost of Dehradun, 01 police station and 01 outpost of Pauri total 270 villages, 01 police station and 03 outpost of Tehri total 267 villages, 01 police station and 03 outpost of Chamoli total 120 villages, 02 outposts of Rudraprayag There are total 104 villages, total 47 villages of 02 outposts of Uttarkashi, total 121 villages of 01 police station and 04 outposts of Nainital, total 398 villages of 02 police station and 03 outposts of Almora and total 103 villages of 01 outpost of Champawat.

With the establishment of new police stations and police posts in these areas, crime and anti-social activities will decrease and tourism and business activities will be encouraged by increasing the security system of the citizens. The state government is taking action in a phased manner on the above subject by identifying tourism activities, sensitive and important areas.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that in view of better law and order in the hilly areas, the state government has decided to replace the present police revenue system with regular police system. The Chief Minister said that along with Uttarakhand tourism state, there is also a Devbhoomi, lakhs of devotees visit the state every year, from this point of view, it is necessary to improve the law and order of the state.
