Uttar Pradesh / Meerut: The thief reached the jewelers shop by making a tunnel from the drain, failed to cut the safe

Miscreants stole jewelery worth lakhs of rupees by making a tunnel from a drain in Ambika Jewellers’ shop in Meerut. The miscreants also tried to cut open the vault with a gas cutter, but could not succeed. When the traders reached the shop on Tuesday morning, they came to know about the theft. The businessman informed the Nauchandi police along with the nearby shopkeepers. The traders created a ruckus accusing them of not patrolling the night. The police have assured the traders to disclose the theft at the earliest.

Scoundrels are fearless

The miscreants are continuously carrying out theft incidents on Garh Road without any fear. On March 2 also, miscreants tried to steal by making a tunnel in the shop of Priya Jewelers near Gandhi Ashram on Garh Road. The trade union created an uproar over the arrest of the miscreants who made the tunnel and demanded the police to disclose it within 48 hours. But even after 26 days have passed since the incident, the police have not been able to trace the tunnel builders.

Second incident by making tunnel

Once again, after the second incident of tax evasion by making a tunnel at the jewellers, the indignation of the shopkeepers erupted. The shopkeepers accused the police of not patrolling the night and made many other serious allegations. Warned that if both the thefts are not disclosed, all the traders will agitate on the streets. Station in-charge Upendra Singh Yadav says that the matter is being investigated, yet it is not clear how much goods the thieves have stolen. Nearby CCTV cameras are being scanned and soon the thieves will be arrested.
