The number one city and smart city of the country has been exposed regarding the incident. On Thursday, when the accident happened, people started the rescue with their own means. Meanwhile, police and fire brigade also reached the spot and started the rescue. But neither the police nor the fire brigade had ropes. Later, the Municipal Corporation made arrangements from somewhere and lowered the ropes. When the ropes were seen by the people fighting for death in the stepwell, their lives came to life. The women and children lying unconscious below were tied up and taken out, but during this a rope broke. This rope also broke when the woman was just 3 feet away from the ground. The rope broke from such a height and it fell directly into a stepwell more than 40 feet deep. Its hallmark is found in the video going viral on social media in which a man is trying to get the woman out of the stepwell by tying her with a rope, but the rope breaks and the woman falls into the stepwell again with a scream. Several regional citizens gathered around the temple were also seen complaining that the administration could not assess the magnitude of the accident and took the decision of calling the army for rescue hours late.
Let us tell you that the Patel Nagar temple of Indore, under which 36 devotees got buried in the cheek of time after falling into the stepwell, there is now a stinging silence of mourning. Sunil Solanki (52) was the 36th body retrieved from the stepwell during the nearly 24-hour rescue operation. Local citizens told that this accident has been recorded as the worst accident in the history of the city in which 21 women and two children also lost their lives. The residents of Patel Nagar have still not forgotten the moment when the floor of the Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal temple caved in in such a way that most of the people could not get a chance to save their lives.
