Demonstration of farmers regarding MSP in Kurukshetra, Haryana, Delhi highway blocked

The farmers of Haryana blocked the national highway going to Delhi for the demand of Minimum Support Price (MSP) in the purchase of sunflower crop because they were not satisfied with the relief given by the Chief Minister in this regard. He decided to block the National Highway 44 by the farmers in a ‘mahapanchayat’ organized in Pipli village of Kurukshetra district. To avoid congestion, traffic has been diverted on the Delhi-Chandigarh route.

Route for vehicles traveling from Delhi to Chandigarh

For the vehicles going from Delhi towards Chandigarh-Ambala, National Highway 152D will remain from Kurukshetra Sector 2/3 cut to Brahmasarovar, Third Gate KUK Dhand Road. .Via Umri, Indri, Ladwa-Yamunanagar will remain from under the Umri Chowk bridge for the vehicles going towards Yamuna Nagar.

For vehicles going from Chandigarh to Karnal-Delhi, Yamunanagar, instead of crossing GT road from Aman Hotel bridge, they will go from under the bridge via Saha cut via Dausdaka, Adhouya, Babain via Ladwa to Yamunanagar and Karnal-Delhi. For vehicles going from Chandigarh to Kaithal-Hisar-Kurukshetra, via Thol, 152D will remain from below Saha Bridge via Jalebi Bridge.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday digitally distributed ‘Bharpai (relief)’ to 8,528 farmers for sunflower crop grown in 36,414 acres under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana (BBY). The state government is giving Rs 1,000 per quintal as interim assistance under the scheme for sunflower crops sold below the MSP. The farmers are demanding that the state government buy sunflower at an MSP of Rs 6,400 per quintal.
