SAFF Championship: Lebanon beat Bhutan 4-1, strengthen claim to semi-finals

Lebanon beat Bhutan 4-1 to strengthen their claim to reach the semi-finals of the ongoing SAFF Football Championship here. The team is on top of Group B with six points and has yet to play a match against Maldives on June 28. Bangladesh and Maldives have 3-3 points. They too are in the fray right now.

Bhutan’s team is out after losing two matches. Scored for Lebanon by Mohamed Sadeq, Ali Al Hajj, Khalil Bader and Mehdi. Bhutan’s goal was scored by Giltshen. Earlier on Sunday, Bangladesh beat Maldives 3-1. Hamza Mohammed (17th minute) gave Maldives a 1-0 lead but Rakib Hussain (42nd minute), Tariq Qazi (67th minute) and Tariq Qazi (90th minute) helped Bangladesh seal the match. Bangladesh got three points by winning the Group B match. Maldives had secured three points by defeating Bhutan in the first match.
