Asian Games: Half of the men’s judo team of the Asian Games got caught in dope, big scandal surfaced in Bhopal national camp
A major dope scandal has come to the fore before the Asian Games. Half of the men’s judo team selected for the Hangzhou Asian Games has been found to be doping. A total of five judokas have been found positive in NADA’s sampling. This team was preparing for the Asian Games in Bhopal. A dope-positive judoka has alleged conspiracy against him at the Bhopal national camp. This judoka, before getting caught in dope, had written a complaint to his department that a person involved in the camp against him was constantly threatening him.
Trapped in two trials in three camps
The judo team for the Asian Games was selected on April 4 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi through trials. Dope samples were also taken here. After this, the team’s camp was organized in Bhopal from 20th May. Here on May 27, NADA again took dope samples. Selected in the team, Asian Championship medalist Mohsin Gulab Ali (60), Jakarta Asian Games player Harshdeep Brar (81), stand by Rahul Sewta (81) were found positive in the samples taken in Bhopal, while another member of the team Akshay (66), involved in judoka and stand by, was found positive in the trial.
Temporary ban on all five
The same salt SARM, Ostarine, has been detected in the samples of Gulab Ali and Harshdeep Brar trapped in the samples taken at the Bhopal camp. Rahul’s sample tested positive for oxandrolone and stanozolol, while Akshay’s sample tested positive for metendinone. All five judokas have been temporarily banned. If these five do not prove their innocence before NADA, then they can be banned for a maximum of four years. Harshdeep had also come in controversies in Spain last year. He was accused of harassment by a woman there.
Judoka said a conspiracy hatched in the camp
Gulab says that he had another sample taken before Bhopal, but he turned out to be negative in it. He was having a dispute with one of the team members. He had also received threats, which he had also complained to his department. A conspiracy has been hatched against him, which he will leave no stone unturned to prove before the NADA hearing panel.
