Smartphone-TV prices reduced! The government reduced the GST rate, know since when the new prices came into force

The central government has given a big relief to the customers by taking an important decision. This relief will be given to those people who wanted to buy new electronic devices like mobiles and TVs. It was expected that the GST rate on the purchase of electronic equipment would be reduced and this has happened. According to this decision by the Central Government, the GST rate on the purchase of mobile and TV has been reduced.
Earlier, 31.3 percent GST was levied on the purchase of mobile and TV, which has now been increased by the government from 12 to 18 percent. Thus, buying mobiles and TVs will become 19 per cent cheaper than before. This new GST rate has come into effect from 1 July 2023.
This much money will be saved on buying TV-mobile
Earlier, the price of 27-inch TV was Rs 32,825, but now users will have to pay Rs 29,500 for it. If you buy a TV larger than 27 inches, you will still have to shell out Rs 32,825. Similarly, earlier before July 1, a smartphone cost Rs 32,825, but now you will have to pay Rs 28,999 for the same smartphone.
Now you have to pay 12% tax to buy mobile
The Central Government has revised the tax rates on TVs and mobiles up to 27 inches on 1 July 2023, the sixth anniversary of GST. According to the official Twitter handle of the Finance Ministry, the government has announced to pay 12 percent tax instead of 31.3 percent to the customers on the purchase of mobiles.
Other things also became cheaper
With the same reliefs, purchase of refrigerators, washing machines, geysers, fans, coolers, LPG stoves and other home appliances like mixers, juicers will attract 12 per cent tax instead of 18 per cent. Apart from this, 12 per cent tax will be applicable on LEDs instead of 12 per cent. The GST rate on vacuum cleaners and UPS has also been reduced from 28 per cent to 18 per cent.
