Uttarakhand: Health department bans leave of employees in the state, decision taken in view of monsoon season

In view of the disaster in the state and the diseases spreading during monsoon, the health department has banned the holidays of the employees. In view of the monsoon and heavy rains in Uttarakhand, the health department has taken this decision. It has been raining continuously in the state since the past, due to which the difficulties of the people have increased.

Director General of Health, Uttarakhand, Dr. Vinita Shah has instructed the Chief Medical Officers and Superintendents of Hospitals of all districts not to give leave to officers and employees except in unavoidable circumstances. He has instructed the CMOs and Chief Medical Superintendents of all the districts through video conferencing that all the officers and employees should be present at their respective places of posting during the monsoon season and in all the hospitals to deal with the calamities coming during the monsoon season. Maintain a complete system of medicines.

Along with this, he has directed the CMOs of the districts to provide complete information about the smooth functioning of CCTV cameras and biometric machines in all hospitals. Dr. Vinita Shah says that the chances of water-borne diseases increasing during the monsoon season. Necessary guidelines have been given to all the Chief Medical Officers regarding the prevention of diseases. Significantly, due to active monsoon in the state, natural calamities have also increased. In such a situation, there is a possibility of loss of life and property due to natural calamities.

In such a situation, apart from other departments, the health department also has to face the challenge in such circumstances. The Director General of Health has asked all the CMOs to stock sufficient quantity of medicines in the hospitals and to stop casual leave of any officer employees. However, DG Health has given exemption to the officers and employees of the health department to be given leave under unavoidable circumstances.
