Gave Rs 2.76 crore at the behest of ‘God’

The woman did not suspect even once that she was being cheated, as she was convinced that she was God’s chosen when she received the call. For six years, Esperanza followed God’s instructions and deposited around 300,000 euros (Rs 2.76 crore) in a small drawer at a local convenience store. He was told that this money was going to the Church of Heaven.

Local shopkeeper accused of cheating

In this strange case, the victim was suffering from religious delusion. In 2013, he was somehow convinced that God had chosen him and that he was a saint. A local shopkeeper has been accused of robbing the woman who knew about the beliefs of the woman and wanted to take advantage of her.

‘I am a saint since 2013’

When the robbery was revealed, Esperanza told reporters, “I’ve been a saint since 2013.” During a car ride, I felt a hand on my shoulder and when I reached home, he took me to the bathroom. There it was written in blood on the mirror: ‘I am a virgin, here I have shed all my blood. My daughter, you are a saint. Wipe it with this sponge.’

‘I was not surprised when I got a call from God’

The woman told- ‘That’s why when I got a call from God for the first time in 2013, she was not surprised. The caller asked him to start depositing his money into “God’s checking account in heaven’s bank”. He was promised better interest than earthly banks, as well as talk of building his own house in heaven with the money saved. I thought it was a good deal.

Apart from saving, money was also given by taking bank loan twice

From 2013 to 2019, the elderly woman deposited all her savings in a small drawer at a local convenience store, from where the swindlers would quietly withdraw money. Who is now accused of cheating on him. The woman spent all her savings to please God and also gave money twice by taking a bank loan.

‘Don’t tell the kids and family or else…’

Demand for 8 years jail for the accused

The suspect in the case is still insisting that he is innocent, but the police allegedly have evidence that he was duping the woman by posing as a god. His trial has just begun and the prosecution has sought 8 years in prison for the defendant.
