Uttarakhand IPS officer Amit Sinha won gold medal in All India Powerlifting Championship
Topper in Power Lifting, Gold Medal in All India Masters Classic Power Lifting Championship 2023 Visakhapatnam, around 50 years of age. Uttarakhand cadre IPS officer Amit Sinha, the symbol of Fit Indita campaign, has set a great example for the people. Amit Sinha, working as ADG Police in Uttarakhand, brought laurels to Uttarakhand by winning gold medal in his age group in the Power Lifting Championship 2023 held in Visakhapatnam from 12 to 16 July. Uttarakhand got one gold and one silver medal in this tournament.
Amit Sinha, a 1997 batch IPS officer, is currently working as ADG Vigilance. But, have always been conscious about fitness. According to Amit Sinha, he started powerlifting during his college when he was studying in IIT Roorkee. Even then he kept winning medals in inter-university competitions. He has worked as a police officer in every district of Uttarakhand. But, his passion for powerlifting never died. This time when the time came to represent the state in his age group by beating everyone else in Uttarakhand, he left for Visakhapatnam along with the team. There he did not disappoint his state. In the 120 kg weight category, he won the gold medal by lifting 435 kg.
A total of 456 contestants from 23 states took part in this tournament. After winning the gold medal, IPS Amit Sinha will now participate in the World Championship to be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This tournament will be held in Mongolia from 8 to 15 October this year. ADG Amit Sinha, who showed this glimpse of fitness at this age, has already given a message to the youth and the elderly – if he is fit then he is a hit.
