Uttarakhand got the first place in the Export Preparedness Index in the country, CM told a big achievement for the state
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has termed Uttarakhand getting the ninth position in the Export Preparedness Index 2022 in the country and first among the Himalayan states as a big achievement for the state. He has also described it as the result of the efforts of the state government. The Chief Minister said that the state government has made a lot of progress in the last few years to strengthen the export economy. Chief Minister said that world class integrated industrial estate has been developed in the state. The State has 2 ICDS at Pantnagar and Kashipur and 1 Multi Modal Logistics Park at Pantnagar. Efforts are being made to make Dehradun and Pantnagar airports of the state international level. To promote air travel, turbo fuel has been reduced by 18 percent. Road connectivity to neighboring states and within the state has improved significantly in recent times. National Industrial Corridor, Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor and Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor will give a boost to trade and exports.
He said that Aroma Park, Electronics Manufacturing Cluster, Pharma City 2, Plastic Park are being developed in the state. To promote exports from the state, a draft “Uttarakhand Export Policy” has also been prepared. The state has also identified One District Two Product (ODTP) identified focus areas for exports. The major sectors identified by the state for export promotion include agriculture and horticulture, health and AYUSH, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, tourism and hospitality, handloom and handicrafts and educational services.
The Chief Minister said that our aim is to promote the local products of Uttarakhand. PM Gati Shakti was inaugurated by the Prime Minister to improve the planning and implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects. The Gati Shakti scheme was a multi-modal connectivity scheme aimed at coordinating infrastructure project planning and execution to reduce logistics cost and time. Regarding this, a GIS State Master Plan is being prepared for Uttarakhand. Its objective is to create an investment climate for the industry. The Chief Minister said that the proactive initiatives taken by the Government of India and the State Government to reduce the travel time between Delhi NCR and the State of Uttarakhand would result in an effective increase in exports from the State.
