Kerala: Garbage women won 10 crore lottery, 11 women bought tickets by mixing Rs 25-25

Kerala has a strong luck connection, where 11 women have won the jackpot to become millionaires. In fact, the women collected Rs 250 by pooling money among themselves to buy a lottery ticket. After this luck rolled in and within no time the lottery jackpot made everyone win ten crore rupees. 11 women members of Haritha Karma Sena (HKS) in Malappuram’s Parappanangadi Municipality won the first prize of Rs 10 crore in the first prize of the monsoon bumper lottery. The story of this victory is also interesting because nine of them deposited Rs 25, while the rest was shared by two others.
Car of luck
For the last two-and-a-half years, the fate of women collecting non-biodegradable waste from homes and establishments to make a living has run out. These women are part of the 57-member HKS group in the municipality. However, the women said they would continue with their business despite the increased confidence they had gained from winning the award. They said that they were able to win the lottery as collective members and hence we will work together. The winning ticket was bought jointly by HKS members P Parvathy, K Leela, MP Radha, M Sheeja, K Chandrika, E Bindu, Karthiyayini, K Shobha, C Baby, C Kuttimalu and P Lakshmi.
Jackpot won amidst desperation
Parvathy, a native of Parappanangadi, said she had no hope as this was the fourth ticket she had bought with the money and when she heard that the winning ticket was sold by an agency in Palakkad on Wednesday, she felt that once again We will be harmed by this. She said, ‘When I returned home after work this afternoon, my son asked me whether we had taken the tickets? Because a person called and said that there is a prize on our ticket.
Honesty got lucky
The women who won the jackpot said they would use the money to build houses, educate their children and pay off their debts. Many of the women are facing a lot of money crunch. Many of them even walk from home to the municipality to save on commuting expenses. The Parpanangadi branch of Punjab National Bank provided the winning ticket. Osman A, chairman of the Parappanangadi municipality, said luck has favored the fittest team, as the women were struggling to make ends meet but were sincere about their work.
