More than 100 girl students of a school suddenly started walking like zombies. Due to this strange behavior of the girl students, the school had to be closed as a precautionary measure. The matter is of Aregi Girls High School, St. Theresa, Kenya. It is being said that all the girl students suddenly fell victim to a mysterious disease.

A Kenyan high school has been closed after nearly 100 girls contracted a mysterious illness, media reports said. According to the information, the legs of the girl students became paralyzed due to the mysterious disease. Africa News reported that currently no information has been received about the exact causes of this disease. The Kenyan government is investigating the matter.

The report said that blood samples of the girl students have been sent to Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) for information about the disease. Africa News quoted Jared Obiero, the regional director of education, as saying that the Department of Education, the County Government and the Department of Public Health are committed to ensuring that children receive proper treatment.

Some media reports said the situation turned serious when students suffering from a mysterious illness demanded to go home. Initially, the school administration reported about 80 students were hospitalized, but the number has now reached above 95.

Local reports said some of the affected students have been admitted to various hospitals, with 30 admitted to Kakamega Level Five Hospital, 20 to Shibwe Level Four Hospital and 12 to Iguhu Level Four Hospital.
