Israeli army says it has no ‘confirmation’ of allegations that ‘Hamas beheaded children’
An Israeli military spokesman told Anadolu on Tuesday that the Israeli military had no information confirming allegations that “Hamas beheaded children.”
It was alleged that Hamas’ armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, “beheaded several Israeli infants” on the Israeli side during an attack launched from Gaza on Saturday morning.
When Anadolu contacted the Israeli military’s spokesperson unit by phone and asked about the allegations, they said, “We have seen the news, but we have no details or confirmation about it.”
The situation worsened with Saturday’s surprise attack on southern Israeli cities by the Palestinian group Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Israel retaliated with massive airstrikes in Gaza and placed the area under a complete blockade.
More than 1,900 people have been killed so far in the violence, according to officials, including at least 900 Palestinians and 1,000 Israelis.
Israel has also cut off water and electricity supplies to Gaza, worsening the already dire humanitarian situation in the blockaded territory.
The Gaza Strip, home to about 2.2 million people, has suffered an Israeli siege since 2007.
