Uttarakhand: Opposition to handing over Nainital Bank to private hands

Nainital Bank Staff Association has opposed handing over the bank to private hands. Calling it a wrong decision, the employees raised the demand to merge Nainital Bank with Bank of Baroda. Warned that if the demands are not accepted then agitation will be carried out.

On Sunday, Nainital Bank Staff Association held a meeting at Sharda Sangh located in Mallital. Janak Rawal, Secretary, All India Bank of Baroda Coordination Committee, who arrived as the chief guest, and special guest Rajneesh Gupta addressed the gathering. He said that Bank of Baroda has 98.57 percent shareholding of Naintal Bank. In such a situation, if Bank of Baroda sells Nainital Bank to private hands, then the public and employees will have to bear the brunt of this wrong decision. The Chief Guest assured the employees that the Bank of Baroda Coordination Committee stands shoulder to shoulder with the employees. The organization will fight for the interests of the employees, if necessary the path of agitation will also be adopted. Employees said that if Nainital Bank is privatized then it will directly affect the employees. Many employees including Praveen Sah, Abhay Gupta, Hemant Bisht, Shailendra Negi, Mukesh Pant, Rajan Sah, Nirmal Joshi, Anurag, Jaiprakash Suyal, Vipin Kumar, Saurabh Sharma, Ajay Bisht were present in the meeting.
