The rescue operation continues for the second day after the landslide in the under-construction tunnel in Uttarkashi. Rescuers managed to penetrate 15 meters into the tunnel. About 35 meters more debris still needs to be cleared. However, the stranded workers are safe. Oxygen along with food and water has been supplied to them through pipes. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that all the expert agencies are working to evacuate the workers safely. Our priority at this time is to evacuate all 40 workers. We want to assure their families that the Central and State Governments are making every possible effort. The good thing is that they have been contacted.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that due to the grace of God and the tireless efforts of the people engaged in the rescue operation, the workers trapped inside the tunnel will soon be rescued safely.
