Indian warships equipped with missiles entered the Houthi stronghold, US Navy is also ready, will there be a war in the Red Sea?
The ongoing war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas now appears to be moving towards the Red Sea. The atmosphere has become very tense after continuous missile and drone attacks in the Red Sea by Yemen’s pro-Iran Houthi rebels. The Houthis have targeted many ships, causing them to be set on fire. The US Navy has to take repeated actions to thwart Houthi attacks. To ensure the safety of Indian ships in the Red Sea, one of the busiest routes in the world, India has also deployed two warships equipped with its missiles. Meanwhile, US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin has announced the expansion of the Maritime Security Force for merchant ships in the Red Sea. Meanwhile, Houthis have also announced to continue attacks on Israeli ships.
The pro-Iranian Houthi rebels are claiming to launch missile attacks on Israeli ships, but other ships of the world are also being hit by them. Not only this, they had recently hijacked a Japanese ship coming to India. In view of the increasing threat of attacks on Indian merchant ships, the Indian Navy has now deployed two destroyers in the Gulf of Aden. India will provide security in the North Arabian Sea through these warships. According to the report of Hindustan Times, the Indian Navy has deployed the destroyer INS Kochi and the radar-evading INS Kolkata in the Gulf of Aden.
Indian warships will provide security in the Red Sea
Both these destroyers of the Indian Navy are equipped with killer missiles which have the power to destroy any enemy in the blink of an eye. INS Kochi has already been carrying out operations against Somalian pirates at the mouth of the Red Sea. There is no statement yet from the Government of India on this deployment. Houthi rebels, unaffected by the American threat, have announced that they will continue carrying out attacks in the Red Sea until Israel stops attacks in Gaza.
Houthi rebels are waging a war against the government of Yemen with the help of Al Qaeda, Islamic State and many other terrorist groups. Houthis get help of weapons from Iran. Houthi rebels are creating an atmosphere of fear in the Red Sea with the help of Iranian missiles. This has had a very bad impact on the oil trade. 10 percent of the world’s oil goes from this area. These Houthi rebels are present in Bab al Mandab in southern Yemen adjacent to the Red Sea and are attacking merchant ships. In this whole crisis, Somalia’s pirates are adding to the crisis.
America forms alliance against Houthis
Pirates are hijacking merchant ships and taking them to Somalia. On one hand, China has increased the crisis in the South China Sea, while on the other hand, Iran has increased the tension in the Gulf. This is becoming a big problem for maritime trade. For this reason, America is now trying to provide security with the help of the Maritime Force. This alliance includes the navies of Britain, Bahrain, France, Norway and other countries.
