Inflation rate in Britain reduced by half within a year, ‘…but people will not get relief’
Wednesday was a good day for both the people and the government in Britain because the inflation rate in the country has come down. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak welcomed the decline in inflation before the Christmas holidays. According to official data, inflation in Britain has come down to 3.9 percent. It has reached its lowest level in the last two years.
When Rishi Sunak became the Prime Minister of Britain, he included removing inflation from the country as one of his top priorities. It is noteworthy that when Rishi Sunak assumed the post of PM, the inflation rate in the country was more than 11 percent.
The inflation rate in Britain last month was 4.6 percent
According to the Office for National Statistics, the inflation rate in Britain last month was 4.6 percent. Due to increased inflation, the prices of essential commodities were continuously increasing in Britain, but now people have got relief from inflation. This figure is less than the figure set by the Bank of England.
Good news for all the people in the country- Sunak
“Inflation was 11.1 per cent. But today it has fallen to 3.9 per cent. This is good news for everyone in the country,” PM Sunak said in a social media post. The National Statistics Office said falling petrol prices and slowing prices of food and household goods were largely responsible for the decline in inflation. However, experts say that there will be no decline in electricity bills and prices of essential commodities in the country in the coming days.
At the same time, Britain’s Chancellor Jeremy Hunt said that inflation in the country has reduced by more than half from 11 percent to 3.9 percent, so we can see that our plan is working.
