Rajasthan: The pattern of LLB course has changed, now the new system is being implemented, it will be necessary to give this test.

Now it will not be easy to practice law from Jodhpur’s Jayanarayan Vyas University (JNVU), which provides 90 percent lawyers and about 70 percent judges to the Rajasthan High Court. Next year from the academic session 2024-25, JNVU is going to implement the entrance examination for five-year law courses (BA LLB, BBA LLB) and three-year law courses (LLB). LLB was started here from 1947. On the occasion of LLB completing 75 years, the university is going to make this innovation. Only eligible candidates will be able to become lawyers.
Section of 60 instead of 80
At present there are four sections of 80 seats for 320 seats of LLB. The university has sent a proposal to the Bar Council of India to create a section of 60 seats from next year. The University has already discontinued the sections in LLB on self-financed basis. Apart from this, the university has also sent a proposal to implement B.Com LLB in place of BBL LLB in the five-year law course. There are 120-120 seats in BA LLB and BBA LLB. This decision has been taken due to seats remaining vacant in BBA LLB.
2500 applications come for 320 seats
There are 320 seats for LLB in the university. About 2500 applications are received for admission. Admission is given on the basis of merit of marks obtained at graduation level. Those who score 60 to 65 percent marks in graduation level in the university are toppers. Marking is tough here, whereas many private universities and private colleges give 80 percent marks due to which deserving candidates are deprived of admission in LLB. The cutoff of LLB also remains around 65 percent.
