First case of Corona JN.1 variant found in Delhi

Regarding the first case of JN.1, an official said that the patient is a 52-year-old woman, who was admitted to a hospital three to four weeks ago.

The patient was 50 years old and now he does not have any symptoms of all the variants. Giving this information, Saurabh Bhardwaj said that now people do not need to panic. According to an official, three samples were sent for genome sequencing, and one of them confirmed the JN.1 subtype, while the remaining two revealed the presence of Omicron. Confirming the first case of JN.1 sub-form, Bhardwaj had said that JN.1 is a sub-form of Omicron and it causes mild infection. It is spreading in South India. There is no need to panic. It causes mild infection.

What happened to the female patient
According to the official, the woman suffering from sub-variant JN.1 of Covid was admitted due to mild symptoms. He had cough and respiratory infection. He did not need oxygen support. Initially we thought he had flu but later testing confirmed Covid. He was discharged within a few days.

How many cases of new sub variants in India
According to the latest data of INSACOG, a total of 157 cases of sub-form JN.1 of Covid-19 have been found in the country, out of which the highest number of 78 cases have been reported in Kerala, followed by 34 cases in Gujarat. Many states have seen a rise in the number of Covid cases in the last few weeks and the presence of the JN.1 sub-form of the virus has so far been detected in nine states and union territories.

How many cases in which state?
According to the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomic Consortium (INSCOG), these states include Kerala (78), Gujarat (34), Goa (18), Karnataka (eight), Maharashtra (seven), Rajasthan (five), Tamil Nadu (four). , Telangana (two) and Delhi (zero). INSACOG data shows that in 141 cases of Covid in the country in December, JN.1 was detected, whereas in November, 16 such cases were found.
