Madhya Pradesh: DM Saheb got angry at the driver and said, ‘What will you do? What is your status?

Transporters went on strike on Tuesday in protest against the Hit and Run law and strongly opposed this law, after which a reconciliation was reached between the government and the transporters. The government has appealed to the transporters to return to work. While talking to the truck drivers in Madhya Pradesh, the District Magistrate became so angry that he even asked the drivers about their status. At first the District Magistrate requested, “Speak nicely.” At a meeting called to discuss the complaints of truck drivers, the angry officer said, “Be careful what you say. What will you do; what is your status.” Large-scale protests are taking place across the country regarding the hit-and-run law.

The driver was also ready to step back after listening to the District Magistrate, he said to the officer, “This is what we have fought for, that we have no standing.”

Kishore Kanyal, collector of Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh, ended the conversation with “Don’t take the law into your hands” and offered a suggestion: “You can’t fight like this”. He further said, “We have called all of you to listen to your complaints.”

This video has gone viral on social media. Congress leader Shashi Tharoor also shared this video and took a dig at the government.

Hours after the video went viral, the officer issued his clarification on the matter and said that he did not intend to hurt anyone.

District Magistrate’s office posted

His office posted on Twitter – “In today’s meeting with the drivers and their organizations, when a person repeatedly asked about going to any level after January 3, Collector Kishore Kanyal tried to calm him down. Said something in tone. This was not said with any intention to hurt.” The DM’s office also said the man was repeatedly standing up in the meeting and disrupting the discussion, adding that the intention was “to hurt someone. Was not meant to be delivered”.

“The Collector has made it clear that no one will be allowed to break law and order in the district. It is our responsibility to protect the public and we will not allow law and order situation to arise under any circumstances. We will take strict action. ” Action against those breaking the law,” it further said.

Central government gave assurance to transporters

Later in the day, the truck drivers’ agitation ended as the Center assured that it would consult stakeholders before implementing the controversial law against hit-and-run. Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said the government has taken cognizance of the concerns of truck drivers regarding the provision of 10 years’ imprisonment and fine and has held detailed discussions with representatives of the All India Motor Transport Congress.
