Uttarakhand: CBI files charge sheet against five accused in scam worth crores in Rishikesh AIIMS

CBI has filed a charge sheet against five accused in the scam worth crores in AIIMS Rishikesh. There was a scam worth crores in the purchase of road sweeping machines and medicines in AIIMS. It is also alleged that a scam of about Rs 4.5 crore was committed in the tender process for allotment of chemist shop. Regarding all this, CBI had registered a case against nine people including the then professor of the then Microbiology Department.

After investigating the case, CBI has now filed a charge sheet in the court on January 2 against the then Professor of Microbiology Department, Dr. Balram Omar, the then Professor of Anatomy Department, Dr. Brijendra Singh, the then Assistant Professor Anubha Aggarwal, Administrative Officer Shashikant and Accounts Officer Deepak Joshi. Filed it. They are accused of cheating, criminal conspiracy and corruption.

This is the whole matter
Let us tell you that in the year 2022, CBI had received information about a scam in the allocation of machines and medical stores in AIIMS. The CBI team raided AIIMS Rishikesh on February 3, 2022. This action continued till February 7, 2022.

After this, the team again reached AIIMS on 22 April 2022 and after examining many documents, exposed a scam of Rs 4.41 crore in the purchase of sweeping machines and allotment of medical stores. After this, CBI had registered cases against nine people including five AIIMS officials.

A five-member team was formed
Investigation has revealed that a five-member committee was formed in AIIMS to purchase the sweeping machine. The committee included Dr. Balram Ji Omar, Dr. Brijendra Singh, Dr. Anubha Aggarwal, Deepak Joshi and Shashikant. It is alleged that by rigging the tender process, the committee gave the tender to an ineligible company while excluding the qualified company and purchased a machine worth Rs 2 crore, which lasted only for a few hours. Similarly, irregularities were committed in allotting the tender for the chemist shop in AIIMS. Contrary to the tender process, the tender was allotted to M/s Triveni Seva Pharmacy.
