Himachal Pradesh: Cabinet again opened the box of jobs, decided to fill 2600 posts of guest teachers, also approved the new film policy

Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has once again opened the box of jobs. Apart from jobs, new film policy has been approved and also an important decision has been taken to fulfill the guarantee of milk purchase. The Sukhu Cabinet has also passed a proposal to increase the marriageable age of girls from 18 years to 21 years.

The Cabinet approved Himachal Pradesh Film Policy-2024 to encourage film production in the state and provide facilities to producers. Under this policy, a Film Facilitation Cell will be set up through a single window mechanism to provide necessary approvals for film shooting in the state. Besides, a dedicated web portal will also be prepared for this.

2600 posts of guest teachers will be filled
In the State Cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu at the State Secretariat in Shimla on Friday, in order to promote educational standards and develop the next generation, ‘Annual Period Basis Guest Teacher’ in the Elementary Education Department and Higher Education Department was approved in principle. Approval was granted. Under this, 2600 posts of guest teachers will be filled, out of which 1600 posts will be filled for JBT teachers and 1 thousand posts will be filled for school-college lecturers. In the cabinet meeting, it was also decided to give six months relaxation in the age limit for taking admission in first class in primary schools of the state.

Preparation for recruitment on other posts also
The Cabinet approved creation of 40 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil) and 25 posts of Junior Technician (Work Inspector) in Public Works Department, 20 posts of Work Inspector in Jal Shakti Department, 7 posts of various categories in Revenue Training Institute Joginder Nagar, District Mandi and 10 posts of Soldier Approval given to fill 5 posts of different categories in Welfare Department. In the meeting, approval was also given to upgrade 50 bed capacity civil hospital Sujanpur in Hamirpur district to 100 bed capacity civil hospital and to create and fill 35 posts of different categories here.

Increase in marriageable age of girls
The cabinet also approved increasing the marriageable age of girls from 18 years to 21 years and making necessary amendments in the related rules and acts. Taking steps towards fulfilling the election guarantee of milk procurement, the Cabinet meeting decided to sign an MoU with the National Dairy Development Board for consultancy services for setting up an automated milk processing plant of 1.50 lakh liter per day capacity at Dhagwar in district Kangra. Approval was granted. The capacity of this plant can be increased to 3 lakh liters per day. Its construction will cost Rs 225 crore, this plant will be built with the help of NABARD.

Chief Minister Widow and Single Women Housing Scheme-2023
The Cabinet gave in-principle approval to the Chief Minister Widow and Single Women Housing Scheme-2023. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 1.50 lakh will be provided to widows and single women for house construction. The Cabinet approved the restructuring of the State Tax and Excise Department and decided to create Excise Wing and GST and Allied Tax Wing. This will make the working system of the department more convenient. The Cabinet approved extension of the third phase of Himachal Pradesh Sadbhavna Heritage Case Resolution Scheme-2023 from January 1, 2024 to March 31, 2024. This will help in resolving various pending cases under Goods and Services Tax.

180 days maternity leave
In the meeting, under the Maternity Benefit Act-1962, approval was given to provide 180 days maternity leave to women cook-cum-helpers working in the Education Department, this benefit will be payable only to women with less than two living children. In the meeting, approval was also given for the development, operation and maintenance of ropeway from Nature Park Mohal to Bijli Mahadev Temple in Kullu district. The benefits derived from this will be shared between the central and state governments on 50-50 percent basis.
