Delhi: Childless, man kidnaps 11 month old child, wife returns him to police station

Delhi Police has arrested a 39-year-old man for kidnapping an 11-month-old child in Jaitpur area of south-east Delhi. Police said that the accused’s wife returned the child to the police, after which the police arrested the accused from his house. The accused kidnapped the child because he did not have any children. The accused has been identified as Naveen Mishra.

The accused kidnapped and took away the bike

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Rajesh Dev said, “On Wednesday we received a PCR call from a woman regarding the kidnapping of her 11-month-old son. The complainant told the police that she runs a beauty parlor in Jaitpur and has two children.” According to the mother, when her son started crying around 8 pm on Wednesday night, she asked her eight-year-old daughter to take him out of the parlor for some time. In her complaint, the woman said that after some time her daughter told that a man took the child away on a motorcycle.

The accused’s wife reached the police station

The DCP said, “An FIR was registered and investigation started. We checked the CCTV footage and a person was seen carrying the kidnapped child on a motorcycle. “We checked the registration number and found that the vehicle was registered in the name of a woman.” The officer said that while the police was investigating the case thoroughly, at around 10.40 am on Thursday, the woman reached the police station to hand over the wife and child of accused Mishra.

The police interrogated him and later they caught Mishra from his house. During interrogation, the accused told the police that he kidnapped the child because he had no children. Accused Mishra is working in the accounts section of a store in Noida and has no previous criminal record. DCP said that further investigation of the case is currently going on.
