Joshimath-Auli ropeway will not operate at present
After the report of the technical team, the talks regarding the operation of the ropeway have come to an end. There was speculation that the situation of land subsidence in Joshimath had become normal. Therefore, operation of the ropeway will now be started. But the survey report states that many towers have been damaged. Therefore all the towers of the ropeway will be replaced.
Operations were stopped due to land subsidence
Let us tell you that Joshimath-Auli Ropeway is one of the largest ropeways in Asia. In the year 2023, its operation was stopped due to land subsidence in Joshimath. Since then the operation of the ropeway has stopped. Recently, land subsidence has reduced in Joshimath. After which it was being said that its operation would start soon.
Operation of ropeway only after replacement of towers
In the report of the technical team, it has been suggested that the elements of all the towers should be changed and constructed afresh. This entire process will take a lot of time. In such a situation, the ropeway will be operational only after replacing all the towers. While on one hand the tourists are feeling disappointed due to the closure of the ropeway, on the other hand the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam is facing financial loss.
