Gang rape of 20 women in Rajasthan, video made… Promise of job in Anganwadi

A case of gang rape has been registered against Rajasthan’s Sirohi Municipal Council Chairman Mahendra Mewada and the then Commissioner Mahendra Chaudhary. Actually, a woman from Pali district complained about the matter, on the basis of which Sirohi police has registered a case and started action.

In the complaint made to the police, the victim woman has alleged that in the name of making her an Anganwadi worker, the Chairman and Commissioner had called me and fifteen to twenty other women by luring her. After this there was gang rape. In the complaint, there has also been an allegation of blackmailing women by making videos.

The victim said that two-three months ago she had come to Sirohi with her fellow women to work in Anganwadi. During this, she met the Chairman and Commissioner. The Chairman and Commissioner made all of us women stay at their acquaintance’s house and made arrangements for food and drinks. During this time intoxicants were given in the food. After this, the Chairman and the Commissioner along with their associates raped the women.

The victim says that when all the women regained consciousness, they were having headaches. After the conversation, the Chairman and the Commissioner were asked, then the whole matter came to light. Both of them and their ten-fifteen companions laughed and said that we called you here only for this. They were all drunk.

The victim alleged that the accused had also made videos. Now these people are blackmailing. They are demanding Rs 5 lakh each from the women. Along with this, a threat is being made to make the video viral. At the same time, they are also pressurizing other people to have illicit relations. These accused have also taken blank papers and stamps from women on the pretext of jobs.

What did the investigating officer say about the whole matter?

DYSP Paras Chaudhary, who is investigating this case, said that some time ago also these women had filed a complaint in Sirohi Mahila Police Station, which was found to be false. A writ was filed on behalf of 8 women in Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur, on which orders have now been given to register a case. A case has been registered in this matter and research is being done.
