‘Mahasangram’ continues at Shambhu border, farmers pelted stones, broke first layer barricade

In the country’s capital Delhi, farmers are reaching Delhi with their tractor trolleys. In view of the farmers’ movement, strict security arrangements have been made. The famous Red Fort of Delhi has been closed for tourists. A senior ASI officer gave this information amid increased security arrangements due to the farmers’ ‘Delhi Chalo’ march. Many borders adjacent to Delhi have been sealed. Some youth first started breaking the barricades at Shambhu border, after which the police took action. After that the police released tear gas. Iron and concrete barricades have been installed at the three major borders of Delhi, Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur. Roads have also been closed by installing barbed wire, containers and dumpers. Not only this, due to security reasons, the gates of two metro stations in Delhi have also been closed. There is a long jam on Delhi-Noida road and NH24.

After firing of tear gas shells by Haryana Police at Shambhu border, police personnel have tightened their belts at Khanauri-Jind border. Farmers of Punjab will reach Jind-Khanauri border by 2 pm. The traffic coming from Haryana to Delhi has been completely stopped at Singhu border. There is a crowd between farmers and police at Shambhu border. Many schools in Chandigarh have been closed. Indira Gandhi International Airport has issued an advisory urging passengers to plan their journey keeping in mind the traffic jams. The gate of Central Secretariat Metro Station will remain closed till 2 pm. In view of the farmers’ ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest call, security has been deployed at many places in Delhi. Section 144 has been implemented in entire Delhi.

The traffic coming from Haryana to Delhi has been completely stopped at Singhu border. There is a crowd between farmers and police at Shambhu border.

Internet shut down in 2 districts of Rajasthan
In view of the farmers’ agitation, internet has been closed in Hanuman Garh, Shri Ganganagar and Anpugarh in Rajasthan. The border of Punjab and Haryana has been sealed. Roadways buses going to Hanuman Garh, Punjab, Haryana have also been stopped.

Heavy traffic jam from Delhi to Ghaziabad
Heavy traffic jams were seen on the highways connecting Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad via Ghazipur and Chilla borders. Many people use Ghazipur Border Road to go from Noida to Delhi. Therefore, these roads can be avoided.

Jam on DND flyover also
There is a jam on DND flyover also. This flyover also connects Noida to South Delhi. Traffic is moving slowly on NH-48 connecting Delhi and Gurugram.

Traffic jam on Ghaziabad, Kaushambi and Anand Vihar border also
To further prevent traffic jams, authorities have banned vehicles carrying goods from entering Delhi through the Greater Noida Expressway. There is traffic jam on Ghaziabad, Kaushambi and Anand Vihar border also.

Vehicles going from Chilla border to Delhi should take this route
Delhi bound vehicles from Chilla Border can take 14A flyover to reach Golchakkar Chowk Sector 15, then proceed to Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk, Jhundpura Chowk and then proceed towards their destination.

Tear gas released for the third time on Shambhu border
Tear gas has been released for the third time at Shambhu border. The farmers were trying to move towards the toll built 500 meters away.

Some gates may be closed at 9 metro stations
As per security instructions, some gates may be closed at the following metro stations. However, the station is operational.

This advice to vehicles going from DND border to Delhi
Vehicles going to Delhi from DND border have been advised to take Film City flyover to reach Sector 18 and then proceed towards their destination. Vehicles going to Delhi via Kalindi border have been advised to take Mahamaya flyover to reach Sector 37 and proceed from there.

Farmers should be cautious of those who spoil the environment – Arjun Munda
Speaking to the protesting farmers, Union Minister Arjun Munda said, ‘The government is getting information that many people may try to spoil the environment, I urge the farmers to be cautious of such elements. The Government of India is committed to the welfare of farmers. Consensus has been reached on some matters. We can work on ways to find solutions to many other issues as well.

Efforts to ensure that no emergency vehicle gets stuck at Tikri border – Police
Jhajjar SP Arpit Jain said about the security arrangements at Tikri border in view of the farmers’ ‘Dilli Chalo’ march, “Traffic advisory has already been issued and (route) diversion has also been done at many points. We are also ensuring that no emergency vehicle gets stuck at Tikri border.

Cranes installed on National Highway to stop farmers
Containers and cranes have also been parked in advance to stop the farmers on the National Highway leading to Delhi.

Government should sit and talk with us- Naresh Tikait
On the farmers’ ‘Delhi Chalo’ march, farmer leader Naresh Tikait said, “Protests are going on in the entire country… The government should sit and talk with us and give respect to the farmers. The government should think about this issue and try to find a solution to it.”

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said, “There are big capitalist companies in the country. They have formed a political party and have taken over this country. In such a situation, problems will definitely arise. If there is any injustice done to the farmers marching in Delhi or if the government creates any problem for them, then neither are those farmers far away from us nor is Delhi far away from us.”
