Uttarakhand: On the second day of CM Dhami’s announcement in Haldwani, police post started in place of illegal construction, seven more arrested

On the very second day of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s announcement, a police post has been set up in Banbhulpura. Policemen Babita and Jyoti Kuranga, who were injured in the violence, started the outpost at the site of the demolished illegal madrasa. Meanwhile, the police have arrested seven more miscreants. Two pistols, six cartridges and two shells were also recovered from them.

Police have so far arrested 37 accused including two councilors. Arms have been deposited from 41 arms holders. SSP Prahlad Narayan Meena said that three cases had been registered against the miscreants. Police are arresting the miscreants with the help of CCTV. Police have enough evidence. Soon other accused will also be arrested. Police search operation is going on.

During search in Haldwani violence, people found hiding inside locked house
In violence-hit Banbhulpura, people were found locked outside their houses and living inside. Police raided about 150 houses in search of miscreants. During this time, 100 houses were found locked outside, but when the police broke the lock and entered inside, people were found hiding in about 50 houses. Police have detained 35 people for questioning.

A middle-aged man injured by a bullet during the violence died in the hospital. Mohd., resident of Ghafoor Basti. Israr (50) was shot during the disturbance on February 8 at around 8 pm. He died in the hospital during treatment. The police conducted the post-mortem of the body in the presence of the magistrate.

Ration, vegetables and milk were also distributed by the administration in the curfew area on Tuesday. On the instructions of the DM, a 24-hour control room has also been set up in the CMO camp office for medical help to the people.

The petition to ban illegal construction and demolition will be heard in the Nainital High Court on Wednesday, February 14.
