America, Russia, Iran… Armies of arch enemy countries will meet in ‘Milan’, know how India became the confluence of the world
After the Ukraine war, the enmity between America and Russia is at its peak these days. To defeat Russia, America has so far given arms worth billions of dollars to the Ukrainian army through itself and its NATO allies. At the same time, Russia has also intensified its military preparations against America. American intelligence agencies claim that Russia is deploying nuclear bombs in space. This step of Russia has created a stir throughout America. At the same time, the tension between America and Iran has become like war these days. After the death of three American soldiers in Jordan, America has destroyed many bases of organizations linked to Iran in the Gulf. The fear of America and Israel attacking Iran has also increased. Despite all these tense circumstances, the armies of all the three countries are gathering in India.
Actually, armies of 51 countries of the world are gathering in India. All these countries are sending their warships to India. A large-scale naval exercise is going to take place in India with 51 countries. In this, all three, Russia, America and Iran are sending their warships. There may be enmity between these countries but all three are close friends of India. It is India’s diplomatic strength that it is bringing together the armies of diametrically opposed countries on one platform. MILAN naval exercise is going to take place in Visakhapatnam. The exercise will include various activities like table-top exercises, discussions and port phase. Specifically, an American Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, two Russian warships and an Iranian warship will be present in this exercise.
India gave a strong message to the Chinese dragon
The Quad countries in Milan – India, the US, Australia and Japan – will participate, while China is notably left out of the invite list. Through this, India has also given a big message to the Chinese Dragon which often exercises with Pakistan in the Indian Ocean. India’s tension with China in Ladakh is at its peak. Israel was also invited to this exercise but has decided not to participate due to the current circumstances amid the Gaza war. Officials have said representatives from most countries will participate in the table-top exercises and discussions, and 15 foreign navies will also send warships to join the exercises.
Global maritime agencies will discuss threats during the exercises, including the use of maritime drones to attack, which have proven effective in sinking large Russian ships by small Ukrainian forces. America will be represented in the Milan exercise by a huge Arleigh Burke class destroyer which is capable of wreaking havoc anywhere. Russia will send two of its warships and Iran is also sending one of its warships to India. As the host, the Indian Navy is going to field the largest number of warships in the event. Indian aircraft carriers, INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant will be showcased during the exercise, but will not participate in the port phase of the exercise.
India’s neighbors will also take part
Vice Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti, has announced that the port phase will run from 19 to 23 February, followed by maritime exercises from 24 to 27 February. The MILAN exercise series began in 1995 at Port Blair and has expanded over the years in line with India’s efforts to strengthen maritime partnerships around the world. Other countries that have sent warships to Visakhapatnam include Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bangladesh. Additionally, a French Atlantic long-range maritime patrol aircraft has already arrived for the exercise. Through this naval exercise, India is demonstrating power in the Indian Ocean at a time when China is rapidly sending its warships to the region. After the South China Sea, now China has its eyes on the Indian Ocean and that is why it is targeting Maldives.
