Paris Olympics: Anush Aggarwala gets quota for Paris Olympics in dressage, aim is to get medal for India

Horse rider Anush Agarwala, who won the historic bronze medal in dressage at the Hangzhou Asian Games, has given the country its first Paris Olympics quota in horse riding. The country has got this quota thanks to Anush’s performance in four events of the International Equestrian Federation.

Anush’s dream to play in Olympics
Anush scored 73.485 percent in Warclaw (Poland), 74.4 percent in Kronenbourg, Netherlands, 72.9 percent in Frankfurt, Germany, 74.2 percent in Michelin, Belgium. Indian Equestrian Association says that this quota is for the country, trials will be conducted to send the names of the riders to the organizers. 24-year-old Anush said that playing in the Olympics is his childhood dream and he will feel proud to witness this historic moment for the country. Anush is hopeful of this
Anush said, ‘I am very proud and grateful to have been successful in securing a quota for India in the Paris Olympic Games. Competing in the Olympics has always been a childhood dream of mine and I am proud to be a part of this historic moment for the country. I will keep doing what I have always done. Always focus yourself on the goal, be disciplined, work hard, set goals and achieve them. I am confident that I will be selected to represent India on this prestigious platform.

Jaiveer Singh also congratulated
The young rider was hopeful that he would be successful in retaining the quota. Indian Equestrian Federation (EFI) General Secretary Colonel Jaiveer Singh has also congratulated Anush. Jaiveer said, ‘We have received confirmation from the EFI regarding the allocation of individual quota in the dressage event. It is a matter of pride that India has got the quota due to Anush’s consistent performance in EFI events. in EFI events and it is not at all surprising that India will once again get Olympic representation in the equestrian events.

Three people represented so far
The legendary Fawad Mirza represented India at the 2020 Tokyo Games and before him only Imtiaz Anees (2000), Inderjit Lamba (1996) and Dariya Singh (1980) could compete on the biggest sporting stage.
