Indians joining Russian army forced to fight war? When India raised the issue, they started getting leave
Rejecting the request for relief from Indians working in the Russian Army, the Ministry of External Affairs has said that this matter has been taken up with the Russian administration on priority. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the matters reported to the Indian High Commission in Moscow have been taken seriously. Apart from this, many Indians have been relieved from the Russian Army. Whatever issue comes to light in the future, India will seriously put it before the Russian administration so that the Indians trapped in the army are released soon.
Several Indians have been discharged after raising the issue, the statement said. However, it is not clear how many Indians are now serving in the Russian army. It is being said in the reports that the number of Indians working in the Russian army may be around 100. Last week, India had asked its citizens to stay away from the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. It was told that Indians are having to join the Russian army which is forced to fight the war against Ukraine.
The Ministry of External Affairs had learned that many Indians had signed contracts with the Russian army. However, India requested for his early discharge. It was reported in the reports that many Indians had started working as army helpers, who were later sent to the front and now they have to fight the war with Ukraine. Some reports also said that some Indians were injured in the war with Ukraine and at least two lost their lives.
AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi and the Karnataka government had recently raised this issue with the Ministry of External Affairs. He said that Indians were trapped in the war. Many of these are residents of Karnataka, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir. Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge and families of some Indians had said that people were sent from here through some recruitment agents. About 200 people from Nepal were also recruited into the Russian Army. Nepal had said that 6 of its citizens were killed after joining the Russian army.
