A former minister of Indian origin in Singapore has got relief in the corruption case. Not only this, he has now also got permission to go out of Singapore. The name of this former Transport Minister of Indian origin is S Easwaran. Two charges of corruption have been leveled against him. The lawyer had filed an application in the court against this.

According to media reports, Singapore’s former Indian-origin Transport Minister S Easwaran has been allowed to stay out of Singapore for 16 days after falling ill in Australia on Monday. He has been accused of corruption. This permission was received after the lawyer’s application.

Can stay out of Singapore for additional 16 days

​Easwaran has been facing several charges including two charges of corruption. Last month, he was given permission to leave Singapore and go to Australia from February 16 to March 4 to send his son to university.

Application was made to get permission by 19th March

According to a local media, a spokesperson of the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) said that the defense has given Easwaran permission to stay out of the country under a special mention in the State Court. This permission is for 16 days i.e. till 19th March. An application was filed for this. Because he fell ill during his stay in Australia. However, the statement did not give much update on Easwaran’s illness.

However, Easwaran will have to keep giving updates about his illness daily through video calls. Easwaran will now return to Singapore on March 19.
