Uttarakhand: The process of teacher recruitment will change in non-government colleges and schools, now this can become a medium

Cases of irregularities in teacher recruitment have been coming to light in non-government colleges and schools of the state. In view of this, the government is going to change the recruitment process. Instead of school and college management, recruitment can now be done through State Public Service Commission and Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission.
For transparency in the recruitment of teachers in non-government colleges, the government has constituted a Higher Education Committee under the chairmanship of Education Secretary Ravinath Raman. In this, Additional Secretary Higher Education, Additional Secretary Personnel and Additional Secretary Justice have been included as members. While Deputy Secretary State Public Service Commission and special invitee members include Director Secondary and Higher Education.
Consider some changes also
It has been decided in the cabinet that this committee will also take decisions on teacher recruitment in secondary schools. Which will decide whether a separate commission should be formed for the recruitment of teachers or recruitment should be done through the State Public Service Commission. Apart from this, the committee can also consider some other changes for transparency in recruitment.
Departmental sources say that in the earlier meeting of the committee, it was decided that if a separate commission is formed for the recruitment of teachers in 21 non-government colleges, then it will cost more. The state already has State Public Service Commission and Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission.
Recruitment of teachers in colleges can be done through the State Public Service Commission. Whereas in secondary education, recruitment to the posts of Assistant Teacher LT can be done through Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission and recruitment to the posts of lecturers can be done through the State Public Service Commission.
Currently this is the arrangement
At present, teachers are recruited in non-government colleges and schools of the state by the recruitment management. However, some people from the department are also involved in this.
