Let us tell you that last year, in the fake birth certificate case, SP leader Azam Khan, his wife Tanzin Fatima and son Abdullah Azam were found guilty and sentenced to 7 years imprisonment. This case of fake birth certificate is related to the 2017 UP assembly elections. Then Abdullah Azam had contested the elections from Swar assembly seat of Rampur on SP ticket. He also won this election.
After the election results, a case was filed against him in the High Court. He was accused that the age mentioned by Abdullah Azam in the election form was actually not that much. The allegation was that Abdullah does not meet the age criteria to contest the MLA elections. Abdullah’s date of birth in the educational certificate is 1 January 1993, while in the birth certificate it is 30 September 1990.
After this matter reached the High Court, the hearing on it started. The birth certificate presented by Abdullah Azam was found to be fake. After this his election from Swar seat was cancelled. Abdullah is accused of obtaining a passport on the basis of the first birth certificate and undertaking foreign tours and also using the second certificate for government purposes.
