A 35-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh learned printing as a vocational skill in jail and started printing fake currency notes after his release. An official gave this information on Sunday. Bhupendra Singh Dhakat’s return to the world of crime came to light when police arrested him on Saturday and recovered 95 fake notes of Rs 200, the official said. Sironj police sub-divisional officer Umesh Tiwari told PTI that a color printer, six bottles of ink and paper used for making fake notes were also recovered from the house of the accused.

According to the police, Dhakat has admitted that he was printing fake notes and circulating them in the market of the district for the last few months. Tiwari said Dhakat has been involved in 11 criminal cases including murder and has been in and out of jail. During his previous incarceration in the district jail, Dhakat acquired printing skills as part of a vocational training program designed to help prisoners reintegrate into the mainstream of society after their release, he said. Started printing fake notes

However, Dhakat turns his newly acquired skills into an illegal business to make a quick buck. A police source said that in October 2003, he was banished from the borders of Vidisha, Rajgarh, Raisen, Bhopal and Ashok Nagar districts for a year, but he somehow managed to print fake notes by staying here. According to Vidisha Jail Superintendent Priyadarshan Srivastava, the prisoners are given training in off-set printing and screen printing to help them earn a livelihood after release.
