Uttarakhand: Fraud case registered against three accused including former assistant engineer of MDDA, this is the whole matter
The former assistant engineer of MDDA made himself his partner to avoid the sealing action of the victim’s building. When there was no benefit in the partnership, instead of the agreement for the victim’s house, a gift deed was made for the house.
Many times the amount was demanded by the accused in the name of canceling the gift deed. On the basis of the victim’s complaint, a case has been registered against three accused including the former assistant engineer in the Cantt police station for cheating, extortion and threatening to kill. Former Assistant Engineer is currently posted in Tehri.
This is a complete case of fraud
Abhay Kumar, resident of Rajendra Nagar, had lodged a complaint that he was building a complex on Kolagarh Road in May last year. During this time, a notice was sent to Abhay Kumar by the then Assistant Engineer of MDDA regarding violation of parking conditions. After this, when the victim talked to the Assistant Engineer regarding the notice, the then Assistant Engineer said that if he made him his partner, the complex would not be sealed. It is alleged that a proposal was made that he should also invest their money in his land deals.
According to Abhay Kumar, he agreed to this proposal. Took Rs 37 lakh from the then assistant engineer but the deal did not go as per his wish. It is alleged that after this the assistant engineer asked for his money back from Abhay Kumar. On this Abhay Kumar said that he does not have money. On this, the then Assistant Engineer proposed to make the agreement of Abhay Kumar’s house in his name.
Also accused of molestation
On this the victim sent his wife to the registrar office for the agreement. But the assistant engineer fraudulently got the gift deed of the house from Abhay Kumar’s wife in the name of his acquaintance. When the victim came to know about this, he asked to cancel it. It is alleged that the Assistant Engineer demanded Rs 1 crore 65 lakh in lieu of cancellation. According to Abhay Kumar, he had liabilities of only Rs 37 lakh. After that, on the evening of April 1, when Abhay Kumar was going somewhere with his wife, the assistant engineer and two people present with him near ONGC Club stopped him, threatened him and molested his wife.
Police registered a case
Police station Cantt in-charge Mahavir Uniyal has said that on the basis of Abhay Kumar’s complaint, a case has been registered against three people including the assistant engineer under various sections including fraud. The police is investigating the matter. Legal action will be taken according to the facts that emerge after investigation.
