‘Number 1 in Bengal, will do wonders in South’, BJP will not be happy after hearing Prashant Kishor’s prediction

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, political strategist Prashant Kishor claimed on Sunday (April 7) that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will increase its seats and vote share in South and Northeast India. He said that BJP can win more than 300 seats in the upcoming elections which is much more than the magic number required to form the government at the Centre.
Prashant Kishor, who has worked with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many opposition leaders like Mamata Banerjee in Bengal and Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh. He said that BJP can emerge as the number one party in West Bengal. At the same time, BJP can become number one or number two party in Telangana also.
‘BJP can become number one in Telangana’
He told news agency PTI, “They (BJP) will be either number 1 or number 2 party in Telangana, which is a big thing. They will definitely be a big party in Odisha also. In my opinion, there is every possibility of this.” It is clear that BJP is going to win maximum seats in West Bengal.”
‘Opposition missed opportunities’
Prashant Kishore further said that the opposition had three opportunities to stop BJP’s Vijayarath, but due to laziness and wrong strategies they missed these opportunities. He told that this time BJP can get double digit vote share in Tamil Nadu.
BJP’s account was not opened last time in Tamil Nadu
In 2019, the saffron party got 3.66 percent votes in Tamil Nadu, but it could not win any seat. This time, in some opinion polls, BJP has been predicted to get 3-5 seats. Similarly, in Odisha, BJP had won 8 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats in 2019. This time this number can go up to 10. In Telangana, which has 17 seats, BJP had won 4 seats.
There are 204 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha, including Telangana, Odisha, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Kerala, but BJP could not even win a total of 50 seats in all these states in 2014 and 2019. BJP won 29 seats in these states in 2014 and 47 seats in 2019.
PM Modi focused on South
However, this time Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have put full emphasis in the South and East to increase the number of seats. Referring to the visits of top BJP leaders to the south, Kishor said that in the last five years the Prime Minister has held more rallies in Tamil Nadu than Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi or any other opposition leader.
