On the instructions of Brigade Commander Brigadier Dhilon, OC Colonel Sunil Yadav of 418 Independent Engineering Corps has sent army personnel under the leadership of Har Sevak Singh and Pramod Kumar to remove snow. On Sunday, permission was taken by offering prayers in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib at Gurudwara Govind Ghat. After which, the first contingent and the sevadars of the Gurudwara were sent to Ghangaria by the Chief Manager of Gurudwara Trust, Seva Singh.

This group of Indian Army will reach Hemkund Sahib from Ghangaria tomorrow to remove snow. 35 soldiers and servants of Gurudwara are fulfilling this responsibility. Hemkund Sahib always receives heavy snowfall in winter. Due to which icebergs remain scattered everywhere. There is a huge glacier near Atlakudi, two km before Hemkund Sahib. Here a path has to be made by cutting the ice from the middle. Let us tell you that every year the soldiers of the Indian Army do the work of removing snow during the Yatra.
