Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Rishikesh on Monday and took stock of the Chardham Yatra arrangements. He also met the pilgrims and took feedback of the travel arrangements. During this, necessary guidelines were given to the officials.
The Chief Minister said that due to the excessive increase in the number of pilgrims in the Chardham Yatra, some problems had arisen. Now this situation has been controlled to a great extent. He said that in the coming days, the Chardham Yatra will be completed safely and smoothly.
Meet the pilgrims and know their condition
On Monday morning, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the Yatra Transit Camp in Rishikesh on a surprise inspection. The Chief Minister met the pilgrims staying in the transit camp here and inquired about their condition. The pilgrims told that they are staying here due to non-registration.
The pilgrims demanded the Chief Minister to open the registration soon and make the journey smooth. On which the Chief Minister said that the passengers will not be allowed to face any kind of trouble. Soon they will be registered and sent on pilgrimage. The Chief Minister also inspected the stalls set up by the women’s self-help group in the transit camp.
He also inspected the hospital, helpline, registration counter and door matriculation opened in the transit camp for the passengers. During this, he directed the officials to make the arrangements more efficient.
Backlog of pilgrims also reduced
Talking to reporters, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Chardham Yatra arrangements have come back on track to a great extent. The backlog of pilgrims staying in Rishikesh and Haridwar is also reducing. Now soon the offline registration system will be opened. He said that all these steps were taken keeping in view the safety of the pilgrims. The government is committed to providing smooth and safe travel to the passengers.
The Chief Minister said that the government is also in touch with other states to conduct the journey in a systematic manner. They are being constantly provided feedback related to the journey. During this, Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, IG Garhwal KS Nagniyal, Dehradun District Magistrate Sonika, Additional Commissioner Narendra Singh Kwariyal, Municipal Commissioner Shailendra Negi, Sub-District Magistrate Kumkum Joshi, Rural SP Lokjit Singh, Police Jurisdiction Sandeep Negi etc were present.
