Food Safety Department raids Dehradun, notices issued to several establishments on the Chardham Yatra route, 5 quintals of stale paneer found

In view of the Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra and tourism activities, the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department is conducting raids across the state. On the instructions of FDA Commissioner R Rajesh Kumar, a large-scale campaign is being run against adulterators in all the districts of the state. In the sequence of which, the team of the Food Department has taken samples from all places across the state and issued notices to the establishments doing adulteration.
Campaign against adulteration
FDA Additional Commissioner Tajbar Singh Jaggi said that the command of the special campaign being run to prevent adulteration in food items has been handed over to Deputy Commissioner Food Headquarters, GC Kandwal. A joint team has been formed under his leadership, which is checking the quality of food items at the establishments of food manufacturing units, wholesalers, retailers located on the Chardham Yatra route. In this, strict action is being taken against adulterators with the help of the police administration. Adulterators will not be spared at any cost.
Notice to many shopkeepers
The team formed under the leadership of Food Headquarters Deputy Commissioner GC Kandwal inspected hotels, restaurants, dairies and other places located in Selaqui, Herbertpur, Dharmawala area of Vikasnagar area of Dehradun district. Under the provisions of the Food Safety Standards Act, the team conducted a thorough inspection in the entire area. The joint team first conducted a surprise inspection of vehicles supplying milk and other food items on Herbertpur Paonta Road. After this, the leveling, condition and storage of milk and milk products being supplied from Dehradun were also checked. Licenses were summoned on the spot. Notice has been issued for supply without license.
5 quintals of stale cheese found in the shop
Additional Commissioner Administration Tajbar Singh Jaggi said that on the information of the informer, a team reached the cheese manufacturing establishment located in Adhuwala Kunj Grant for a surprise inspection. The team found during the inspection that the accused who manufactured the cheese was not found. About 4-5 quintals of cheese was kept in the establishment. The team strictly questioned a person named Salman present on the spot regarding the Paneer. The person present in the establishment told that this Paneer is five to six days old. It has been made for supply in Himachal Pradesh.
