Before taking oath as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat on Sunday morning. Modi was accompanied by Hardeep Singh Puri. He will take oath as Prime Minister for a record third time at 7.15 pm today. Along with Narendra Modi, members of his Council of Ministers will also take oath today. Preparations are in full swing in the national capital ahead of PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.
Around 1,100 traffic policemen of Delhi Police have been deployed as part of preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi, who will take oath as Prime Minister on Sunday. Advisory has been issued to the public to arrange traffic route for the delegates.
Apart from this, NSG commandos, drones and snipers will also guard the Rashtrapati Bhavan for this mega event. Many leaders and heads of state from the neighboring region and the Indian Ocean region have been invited as special guests to the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Modi, which is a testimony to India’s ‘Neighbor First’ policy.
Delhi has been declared a ‘no-flying’ zone. Meanwhile, flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms like paragliders, paramotors, hang gliders, UAVs, UAS, microlight aircraft and remote-controlled aircraft has been banned in the national capital.
The Delhi Police has also issued an advisory on X, stating that from 09.06.2024, flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms like para-gliders, para-motors, hang-gliders, UAVs, UASs, microlight aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small size powered aircraft, quadcopters or para-jumping from aircraft etc. will be prohibited in the jurisdiction of Delhi in view of the swearing-in ceremony in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, so as to prevent criminal, anti-social elements or terrorists hostile to India from using them to threaten the security of the general public, dignitaries and important installations.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on June 5 unanimously passed a resolution to elect Narendra Modi as its leader. Twenty-one NDA leaders signed a letter to elect Narendra Modi as their leader during a crucial meeting held at his official residence in Delhi on Wednesday.
According to the results declared by the Election Commission of India on Tuesday, the BJP won 240 seats and the Congress 99 seats. The BJP had won 303 seats in the 2019 general elections and 282 seats in the 2014 general elections.
