During this, the people of the Satnami community created a lot of ruckus. The uncontrolled crowd set the Collector Bhawan on fire. There was also a district panchayat building and tehsil office nearby, here too there was vandalism and arson. More than 100 vehicles were burnt. When the police went to stop the crowd, they also got injured. Some policemen were injured in the stone pelting. The protesters set fire to vehicles one by one. They destroyed government property. They entered the offices and tore the documents.
Let us tell you that the police was aware of the agitation of the Satnami community. Balodi Bazar SP Sadanand Kumar himself has accepted that the Satnamis had informed the police in writing about the protest. However, the SP also says that the police was told that the agitation would be completely peaceful.
The number of people protesting is more than 5000
According to the information, the number of people protesting in front of the Collector Bhawan in Baloda Bazar was more than 5000. At the same time, the number of policemen was around 125. When the crowd started moving forward by removing the barricade, the policemen started moving forward to stop them. But pushing the policemen, the protesters moved towards the Collectorate building. By 3 pm, the protesters reached the Collectorate office via Dussehra ground by 3:30 pm. After this, they started creating a ruckus. By 4:15 pm, the Collectorate building and the SP office were set on fire. There was a lot of ruckus till 5:30 pm.
First of all, the fire brigade vehicles were set on fire
The crowd first set the fire brigade vehicles on fire. Due to which there was a delay in extinguishing the fire. More than 25 policemen have been injured in the violence. Section 144 has been imposed in the city. CM Vishnu Dev Sai has sought a report on this incident from the Chief Secretary of the state and the Director General of Police.
