If you have an account in Punjab National Bank, be alert; your account will be closed from July 1, the bank is sending notice

A big news has come for the country’s second largest government bank. If you also have an account in PNB, then this news is useful for you.

Let us tell you that the bank is going to close those savings accounts in which the customer has not done any transaction in the last three years. This decision will affect those accounts which are lying idle without any balance.

The bank has set a deadline of June 30 for keeping money in these accounts and activating them, that is, your account will be closed from July 1.

These accounts will be affected

Let us tell you all that those accounts which have not had any transaction in the last three years will be closed. Those bank accounts whose balance has remained zero for 3 consecutive years will also be closed.

Before closing the bank account, Punjab National Bank has already sent information to all such affected account holders. Let us tell you that recently you must have received a notice from the bank. In which you must have been told about the possibility of closing the account.

Why is the bank taking this decision

This step is being taken to prevent misuse of such bank accounts. The calculation of all such bank accounts is being done on the basis of 30 April. The bank will close such accounts after 30 June without any notice.

These accounts will get exemption

However, it does not include those accounts which are linked to D-MAT accounts or belong to students or minors below 25 years of age or are opened under government schemes.

Get KYC done before 30 June

All documents related to E-KYC will have to be submitted in the concerned branch. Among the necessary documents for KYC, identity proof such as PAN card, Aadhaar card, driving license, address proof will have to be submitted.
