Pakistani youth are ahead of China and India in wanting to join the army… Russia, Israel, Japan are not able to find soldiers, revealed
Many countries of the world which are fighting wars or are worried due to the possibility of an attack in the near future. They are not getting soldiers to fight. These countries are increasing their military technology and are also increasing the defense budget. Despite this, they have a shortage of youth for recruitment. The biggest example of this has been seen in the Russia and Ukraine war. Both countries are facing a huge shortage of soldiers to fight. Even America is facing similar problems. There is a lack of will to fight among American youth as well. It is becoming a difficult challenge for the countries of Asia to maintain sufficient soldiers, although in this case the youth of Pakistan are different and are excited to join the army.
According to the Eurasian Times report, countries like Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, which are embroiled in war like Israel or are facing the possibility of war, are also facing a shortage of soldiers. Israel is considered to have the most powerful army in the Middle East but its reputation is at stake. Israel has only 15,000 active combat soldiers. Israel is currently dependent on reservists and reserve brigades. These reserve people include farmers and employees. Taiwan also fears an attack from Beijing but does not have soldiers. Taiwan is considering recruiting foreign citizens into the army. The US also allows non-Americans to join the army and apply for citizenship. Amid the tension with North Korea, South Korea is also facing the challenge of decreasing number of soldiers.
Fiji tops in joining the army, Pakistan also ahead of India
Japan’s army (SDF) is also seeing a decline in recruitment applications every year. According to the Japan Times, the number of applicants for the SDF has fallen by about 30 percent in the last ten years to last November. A 2015 survey by Gallup International found that the Japanese were the least willing to fight for their country, with only 11% saying they would do so, while 42% in South Korea and 71% in China were ready to fight in the army.
The report says that China, the country with the largest army, is also struggling to attract enough recruits despite 71 per cent of its youth being willing to join the army and fight. Interestingly, Pakistan is ahead of China and India in the Gallup survey. 89 per cent of Pakistan’s youth are willing to fight. India is at 75 per cent and China is even lower at 71 per cent. Morocco and Fiji top the list with 94 per cent.
